Brought a bit of Martha Stewart with me to a sports expo to keep me sane
How things change
The past six months have been incredibly different from what we would have expected a year ago. It has been 8 months since I began freelancing and focusing on getting my agency off the ground, and even though they have been difficult just like for anyone starting a business, I have to admit I have enjoyed it.
For the first time in a while, I had the opportunity to work on my technique and grow my portfolio, and I know that as soon as my dad arrives in town, the agency is going to grow fast.
We finally settled into our new home, a beautiful two story loft in the mid southern part of the city, and now have a home office which I definitely need to redecorate and also serves as the “doggie room.” I’ve been spending a lot of time here lately working on designs for our newest client, a little league baseball organization which is definitely bringing back memories of when my brothers played at that very same league and where I met Goose over 20 years ago.
And talking about Goose, we’re decided to extend the engagement till the spring to give my parents the proper amount of time to move down, and also I think our guest will appreciate spring weather as opposed to freezing winter. This decision also made it easier to actually choose the open back dress I wanted.

As crazy as things have been lately, they’ve made this one heck of a ride and what’s like without a few of those ;)

Our first infographic! …day 265
As you know by now, I produced a YouTube series for the carrier I currently work with…and which is sponsored by our friends over at Motorola. In order to continue educating the consumer, we have begun creating infographics to go along with each episode. Let me know what you think. Do you find it helpful?
Black Koi mode…day 241
Now that Goose is back, it’s time to get Black Koi 360 going….and fast. Unfortunately, due my overly curious pup Lina and a very unfortunately event—Lina walking on my MacBook’s keyboard and pad, our tumblr and site for Black Koi were taken offline until everything is reset once again.
In the meantime, I have to finish designing our media kit and get it ready for print as well as to be posted on our site. The business card design is pretty much done, but I’m having some issues with the use of different tones of gray. For this agency, I want to take things up a notch so to speak, so I’m thinking of a way to introduce ourselves while creating a long lasting impression—something that we were able to somewhat achieve with out BeatNik cards which mentioned 10 random things about each of us on the back. I’ve come across a few ideas, which now I need to figure out who can print them and how cost-efficient they would be.
While doing some research I ran across these illustrations of Angry Birds super heroes.

Mundo Android 4th Episode….day 240
I’m very excited with the acceptance this project has had so far. This is episode 4 and it kicks off our top 5 apps programing for the next three months. The host for this episode is actor Christian Cataldi.
Mundo Android 3rd Episode…Day 234
Things are finally starting to pick up, and the production company is turning in most of our episodes. As of now, “Mundo Android” should be launching a new episode every two weeks. In this episode, Carmen Baqué introduces the user to the Android Market, it’s categories and how to use it.
Second episode…day 227
The production company finally sent us the second episode of my Android project. Still working on a few details, but people are liking it so far. There are so many things that I see now and wish they had done differently, but unfortunately this project wasn’t as “serious” as my previous productions due to how young and “green” the production company is. But hopefully that will teach our bosses that cheap is never the way to go.
The evolution on f-Commerce..day 209
It’s quite interesting when you sit back and take a stroll down memory lane to 2004 when FaceBook was created. For the fist few years, it was filled with college students and slowly but surely brands began to take advantage of this popular networking site.
I remember when we first opened the BeatNik agency in McAllen how people didn’t understand why in the world they would need to hire an agency to handle their social media, and what’s even worse, some didn’t believe they would benefit from such service.
Which brings us to 2011, a year where you’re either in or you don’t exist. Facebook has become a bridge that connects brands to the consumer in a more direct way. People feel comfortable asking questions and even posting complains. So what’s next? f-Commerce of course! Several brands such as Target, Delta Airlines and Warner Bros have been taking advantage of f-Commerce for a while now and have seen tremendous success. Hopefully over the next few months we’ll see more and more brands jump on the wagon and make our wallets tremble offering shopping options on the most popular web site worldwide.

DAY 187
Going Viral!
The last two weeks have been crazy! but so far it has all been worth it. Today he released the teaser video for our guerrilla event this coming sunday and it’s doing quite well. We’re about to hit the 2,000 viewer mark and it’s only been a few hours. It’s hard to believe people think guerrilla and viral campaigns are low impact…to you I say one word: IGNORANT
