I’m reposting my Save the Date cards and wedding theme since a few of you have been asking my about the palette I used.
We decided to use grey as our base color, along with yellow, purple and teal as accent colors. Since I’m a graphic designer, we opted for doing things a bit different — and considering we’re in Mexico City, all of our friends and family were quite surprised to see something so different and untraditional. They absolutely loved the idea!
I officially finished the design of our “Save the Date” cards about two weeks ago, but waited until now to post them since I wanted for my friends to be the first to see them.
Looks like everyone got theirs as of yesterday, so now I’m sharing the designs with you all. As a graphic designer, I knew from the very beginning that I wanted something different and far away from the traditional. Over the period of several months, my fiancée and I tried choosing a color palette and theme, but it wasn’t until I sat down to begin designing that I fell in love with the idea of “love birds.”
I started off by designing the birds and playing along with various colors. Once I had chosen the color palette, it was time to choose the font styles. I opted for two very different ones for emphasis and began designing our very own timeline / infographic.
Over the next few days, I’ll be working on our official invitations but couldn’t be any happier to see the reaction of my friends upon receiving theirs in the mail.
