Merry Cupcakes, you’ve been replaced…day 255
My love for cupcakes is definitely no secret, and for a few months now I mentioned Merry Cupcakes and declared my love for them. But all that has now changed after being introduced to La Cupcakeria.
As much as I love Merry Cupcakes, I did find them a little dry at times and too small for their price tag. La Cupcakeria is the opposite, their cupcakes are extremely moist, soft, some are cream-filled, and the array of flavors and frostings is to die for.
While Merry Cupcakes only offers your basics: chocolate, vanilla and red velvet, Cupcakeria offers coconut, nutmeg, vanilla, chocolate, chocolate/vanilla, vanilla/chocolate, chocolate/peanut butter, mocha, lemon, banana, apple, strawberry, orange/cranberry, almond/cranberry, red velvet, and Carrot Bluberry.
Goose and I tried their banana cupcake with cream cheese frosting and were blown away. I later tried their red velvet with turquoise cream cheese frosting and found it incredibly delicious.
Aside from their now famous cupcakes, they also offer Nespresso coffees which to us was a HUGE plus along with American coffee, cappuccinos, chais, hot cocoa, and tea.
If you ever find yourself in Mexico City, don’t forget to stop by any of their locations and try them out.

Red velvet…day 249
If it hadn’t been for Tania reminding me, I would have completely forgotten to post photos of the cupcakes I baked a few days ago. If there’s one thing I love is baking…not so much because of sweet tooth cause in all honesty out of a batch of 24 cupcakes I’ll eat three at the most…I actually find the process quite soothing and therapeutical.
For over a year I’d been missing red velvet and cream cheese frosting, but thanks to my mother’s thoughtfulness, I received a baking care package consisting of flour, frosting, and decorating sprinkles. As soon as I had a chance, I began baking while waiting for True Blood’s latest episode.
The last photo I absolutely love—it’s Valentino taking full advantage of the baking process to nap on me while I rubbed his belly.
