Black Koi mode…day 241

Now that Goose is back, it’s time to get Black Koi 360 going….and fast. Unfortunately, due my overly curious pup Lina and a very unfortunately event—Lina walking on my MacBook’s keyboard and pad, our tumblr and site for Black Koi were taken offline until everything is reset once again. 

In the meantime, I have to finish designing our media kit and get it ready for print as well as to be posted on our site. The business card design is pretty much done, but I’m having some issues with the use of different tones of gray. For this agency, I want to take things up a notch so to speak, so I’m thinking of a way to introduce ourselves while creating a long lasting impression—something that we were able to somewhat achieve with out BeatNik cards which mentioned 10 random things about each of us on the back. I’ve come across a few ideas, which now I need to figure out who can print them and how cost-efficient they would be.

Goose has left the building…day 224

Goose has officially taken off to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. But before he left, we made sure to give the foundation’s web site a MAJOR facelift and get it all ready for the Series.

It took us about three days along with the developer to finish the redesign just in time. I wish I had take screen shots of the old one in order to show the difference, but believe when I say it was definitely a drastic change. We organized all the information, specially the galleries, there’s an about us section with information about the Foundation, social media widgets and a donation button which we should be activating pretty soon.

Now it’s time for us to focus on Black Koi and get things moving as fast as possible. 

Black Koi…day 223

Today I finally began working on some of the basic things Goose will need to take with him to Williamsport in order to begin offering services through Black Koi. Even though the agency is located here in Mexico City, we will begin by targeting the American market since that’s the one I’ve grown to know quite well. After 10 years of experience there we figured it’d be easier to start that way.

The logo I had already worked on a few weeks back, so today it was the CD labels, letterhead and began gathering all the information for our media kit. That latter being the most interesting since it took me back to 2009 when I was doing the exact same thing for BeatNik back in Texas. The kits contain pretty much the same information since Black Koi offers the same services, but with a completely look and feel. 

Feeling nerdy…day 220

A few days ago my friend Joel asked me to create a new logo for his computer consulting company and I’m pretty excited with the final outcome. The main element he wanted me to use were nerdy glasses, black frame with tape. I drew them out about 3 or 4 times until I was pleased with the design. When I was done I realized this was my first design under the Black Koi “label” and couldn’t help but sign it as such.
